ETM Teaching Artists Participate in Veteran's Day Training

     On November 11th, ETM teaching artists met at Blessed Sacrament School on Manhattan's Upper West Side to see how the new school year was progressing. Program staff instructed teaching artists with new ideas to make their holiday concerts really shine.
     Focuses for the day-long training included carefully planning and articulating aims for a lesson with a measurable goal and supporting activities, and how best to start planning for upcoming winter concerts.  Of particular note was a discussion with choral expert Alice Welker regarding useful strategies and repertoire to use with older elementary and middle school students.  In addition to all of this, teaching artists shared lesson plans with each other, and had a hands-on lesson about how to use the ETM website.
